Kirsten Houghton Elected to United Way Foundation Board

SVA Certified Public Accountants is pleased to announce that Kirsten Houghton, Principal, has been elected to the United Way of Dane County Foundation Board. The Foundation’s Board of Trustees provides fiscal oversight, while serving as stewards of donors’ gifts and ambassadors for United Way’s work to create community well-being.

Kirsten is a Principal at SVA and focuses her expertise on the nonprofit and real estate industries. She is a United Way leadership giver and Loyal Contributor since 1999. Kirsten has been a part of United Way Women United since 2012 volunteering in many roles including serving as Chair in 2017. She will fulfill a two-year term and be eligible for re-election in 2026.

The mission of United Way of Dane County is to build a place where everyone can succeed in work, school, and life. Strategic partnerships and collaborative work bring the voices of Dane County together, finding a common ground to develop and architect positive change in the community.

Kirsten has expertise in audit specific to the nonprofit sector, where she works with a variety of nonprofit organizations including charitable organizations, membership and trade associations, and those organizations receiving federal and state funding. She holds a Certificate of Nonprofit Board Consulting from Board Source® and leads the SVA Board Building training program.
